“I found Elissa Smith at an interesting time in my life. I had just become a grandmother, I was going through menopause, and I knew that I needed some strength training in my life if I was going to stay strong and if I was going to be able to pick up a baby and then a toddler. I also knew that as important as strength training is, I was bored by it and needed to find a way for it to be fun. The other thing I knew for sure is that I wanted to work out with someone close to my age, and so I Googled “trainers in their 40’s”. Elissa’s website popped up almost immediately, and as I went through her site and read her bio, I felt as though I had found what I was looking for. Elissa and I had a brief phone conversation and agreed to meet. That meeting was just a few months ago, and I cannot believe the difference in my body. My arms are firm and getting more toned all the time (no chicken skin here!), and my legs are strong and shapely. I have degenerated discs in my lower spine, but because of the intense core work we do, I haven’t had pain in months! The other beautiful thing to note is that Elissa and I have a great time working out together. She is fun but serious about our workouts, and we laugh a lot, which makes our time together go quickly! The other wonderful thing is that we have a virtual session once a week in addition to one in person, and I get a great workout both days! Elissa is also a wonderful cook and makes amazing recipes that she shares. Tasty, colorful, nutritious in season foods that make healthy eating extra fun!
