Have you ever noticed how many people like their clothes to smell? Have you ever walked through the laundry isle at the store and almost choked from the extreme fake scents? I admit I am sensitive to chemicals, headaches mostly. Some chemicals may even trigger migraines and throat irritation. I know many others that have the same reaction. Some don’t realize it is laundry stuff!
I will never understand why people like their clothes to smell… like hmmmmm grapes? Fake fresh breeze? Tropical toxic! It smells far from natural to me. Maybe because it isn’t! It actually smells horrible and makes me wish they didn’t have it on their clothes or coming out of their dryer vents! When I stretch clients I can tell right away if they use chemicals in their laundry. The worst is when I walk my dogs and take a deep breath of fresh air and OH NO! someone is doing toxic laundry again. Uggg!!! Ok done with my rant 🙂 I share this not just for me, but for everyone that may not know about their choice of laundry products.
Dryer sheet are one of the worst home products for your health. Do you still use them? How about toxic fabric softener? Scented laundry detergent? There are alternatives that are safe for you and your family!
Most laundry soaps and softeners out there have toxic chemicals but dryer sheets are among the worst for having chemicals linked to hormone disruptors and asthma. Other chemicals include acetaldehyde and benzene, also found in vehicle exhaust.
Why not trade in those chemical sheets for natural wool dryer balls! I love mine. 100% wool, they are a natural dryer sheet! They help reduce static, wrinkling and lint and they help dry clothes much faster! Win, win and win!! Best part is no chemicals! You can put a drop or two of real essential oil on the balls to give laundry a scent of lavender, lemon or spearmint, take your pick!
If you are using scented laundry soap, fabric softener or dryer sheets I challenge you to do your homework and find safer alternatives. Think of the crazy amounts of toxins that you are putting on your skin and breathing in! Totally unnecessary! My sweet neighbors just had their first baby and I mentioned it to them because I was getting a headache one day while training a virtual client in my yard. Their dryer vent faces my yard and was spewing out these chemicals! Luckily they were willing to check into this. They had no idea!
I hope you rethink your laundry products and you are open to a new wonderful and natural laundry experience! Let’s all get rid of unneeded chemicals! Spread the love and share this with friends! Visit my essential oils page to learn more! Thanks friends!
