Do you ever wonder which produce is more important to buy organic? The EWG knew you would! The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. I love this site and use it often to look up many products including food! They put out a list of the Dirty dozen and Clean 15 each year. This is a guide to pesticides in produce, to help shoppers decide which food items are best to buy organic and when it’s ok to buy conventional. They update the list every year. I’ve included the 2020 list below! They rank pesticide contamination on 47 popular fruits and veggies and is based on more than 35,200 samples. These samples are tested by the FDA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. I use the EWG site to check many items including household cleaners. It is a great site! I’m so happy about avocados! They ranked clean on the list! I hope you find the EWG a useful resource, like I have. They even have an app you can download on your phone 🙂 You can look up household cleaners, cosmetics and more. Here’s to a cleaner, chemical- free life!
