Have you heard of Waist-Trainers? The waist- trainer is a modern-day corset, promising to “melt inches of your waist” if using maximum compression. Celebrities like the Kardashians promote waist trainers, claiming they help to achieve their hourglass figures.
I have no problem if someone wants to wear a waist trainer under a dress to make their figure look awesome, but telling women that if they buy a waist trainer and wear it tight, it will help them to lose belly fat and have a smaller waist? That is not honest, it’s deceptive and could be dangerous! Here are some claims they are making:
- Increase thermal activity to induce sweating and fat loss around midsection area.
- Lose inches instantly, and more over time.
- Stimulate perspiration for overall fat burning.
- Improve posture and help with back pain.
- Suppress appetite for easy dieting.
- Postpartum/Post-surgery support to tighten loose skin.
- Slim down waistline and flatten stomach to create a hourglass body shape.
Truth is, this is the same spot reducing myth that has been around forever. You cannot get rid of fat in one area by squeezing it. But you may get restricted mobility, an inability to breathe properly, and compressed internal organs. Improve posture? Actually wearing back support all the time can hinder core strength. Many things wrong here. There are some pictures I found from way back in the victorian era of women’s ribcages being morphed and deformed from constantly wearing these tight corsets. This was unhealthy. Lying to women that are vulnerable and want their waist back, or want to lose the fat they are struggling so hard to get rid of, is disgusting. It’s deceptive and wrong.
I can tell you how to get a smaller waist tho! You may not like it, but it is the truth 🙂 Eating healthy and weight training. Hard work pays off. Good, natural, unprocessed food pays off. Building and keeping muscle which helps you burn fat pays off. Cardio alone will not do it. Be careful of promises that seem to good to be true, they probably are.
